Martha Glass is Executive Director of Assessment, Professional Development, and Human Resources in Student Affairs at Virginia Tech. She coordinates assessment for all Student Affairs departments as they develop and implement outcomes-based assessment strategies that lead to continuous improvement of programs and services that support student learning. She also oversees assessment educational efforts, coordinates program reviews, and assists with strategic planning and accreditation activities. In addition, she provides leadership for human resources and professional development efforts for faculty, staff, and students in the division. Martha serves in a leadership role in developing a student life curriculum focused on our Aspirations for Student Learning. She is an assistant professor in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program at Virginia Tech. Martha enjoys professional involvement, including a position on the directorate of the ACPA Commission on Assessment and Evaluation. She is passionate about supporting colleagues in creating high impact learning experiences in and out of the classroom, measuring those experiences, and using data to inform change. She and her husband love living in the heart of the Hokie Nation, enjoying all that our beautiful community has to offer.
